Could you cope if disaster strikes?
Fire, floods, IT failure and illnesses such as swine flu are very real disasters which could stop your business in its tracks, and make it difficult or even impossible to carry out your normal day-to-day activities, and can have a devastating effect on businesses.
Have you considered a situation where if may prove difficult, if not impossible, for you and your staff to enter your premises or access your computers and servers?
You could lose important customers and even go out of business altogether.
But with good planning you can take steps to minimise the potential impact of a disaster, and in some cases stop it happening in the first place.
Swine Flu
In a recent report, the threat posed to the economy from swine flu is alarming.
If predictions about the extent of the flu outbreak materialise, on top of the already expected shrinkage of the economy of 4.5%, it estimated that UK GDP would fall by a further 3 per cent in 2009 and another 1.7 per cent in 2010.
What would happen in your business if key people were affected by the spread of the swine flu virus? Have you a plan?
